Best before: September 2024This beer uses barley from the Izalia variety, which originates in southern Germany and has a history of over 100 years. It is a very rare variety that is not often used in beer brewing these days. This Izalia variety has a unique aroma and flavor, and is characterized by a light beer with a heavy mid-palate. Brewed as a Helles-style lager, Izalia barley has a unique hazelnut aroma, a complex aroma reminiscent of the forest, a refreshing mint-like feeling, and a light, floating aftertaste. The barley used is a native variety called heirloom from all over the world, and is brewed slowly and carefully so that the finished beer can feel the "terroir" of the ingredients.

Nick is a licensed pyrotechnician and is also responsible for the organization and production of the Lopez Island Fireworks Display in Washington, the largest in North America. Lager brewing, traditional fireworks making, and wine brewing all have something in common: enjoying the ephemeral beauty of nature along with its rhythms. By tasting Hanabi Lager, you can feel the complex flavors created by the ingredients barley, hops, yeast, and water, as well as the company's belief in brewing the highest quality beer. Hanabi Lager Company is a small-batch craft lager beer brand made using traditional brewing methods from the Bavarian Alps region of Germany, the birthplace of lager beer. It is a private project by Nick Gislason, who is active as the brewer of Screaming Eagle, one of the most difficult beers to obtain in California, and is a new type of boutique brewery made from the perspective of a wine brewer.

The barley they use is a native variety called heirloom from all over the world, and they brew it slowly and painstakingly so that the finished beer can capture the "terroir" of the ingredients.
