Aromas of cassis and ripe fruit. Very concentrated, round and fine. An elegant, complex, fruity wine with a long finish. Jean-Baptiste Larose founded the winery in 1850 in Gevrey-Chambertin. In 1919, his granddaughter Suzanne married Alexandre Drouhin of Chambolle-Musigny, and today's Domaine Drouhin Larose was born. Currently, the fifth generation, Philippe Drouhin, is in charge of managing the winery and is protecting the history of the Domaine, which has been around for over 170 years.

The Domaine's philosophy is to place emphasis on vineyard work and brew with as little intervention as possible in order to bring out the best in each terroir and the individuality of the Pinot Noir. The result is an elegant style with gentle extraction and pure fruitiness.

Another attraction of this domaine is that despite this luxurious lineup, the prices are reasonable. In recent years, prices in Burgundy have risen sharply, but Drouhin-Larose is relatively affordable compared to other famous producers, with Premier Cru wines priced at just under 10,000 yen and Grand Cru wines at around 20,000 to 30,000 yen.

In 2008, they established the négociant business "Maison Larose de Drouhin". Grapes purchased from carefully selected contracted farmers are processed into pure and clean flavors that bring out the individuality and potential of the grapes and terroir in the same way as they do with Domaine wines.
