The winery was founded in 1987 by Brian Crowther and Rollin Soles.
We saw great potential in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which take time to ripen in Oregon, which is located at the northernmost latitude for grape growing in the New World.
In 2000, the winery was named "Oregon's Premier Winery" by Wine Spectator magazine.
Argyle currently owns vineyards primarily in the Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills, which are said to produce some of the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Oregon.
All grapes are hand picked and transported to the winery in small baskets.
The grapes are stored overnight at 2°C and crushed the following day.
A cool overnight storage period allows the grapes to retain their full fruit character and minimises oxidation.
All of Argyle's sparkling wines are vintage and are disgorged on demand each time they are shipped after an order is placed, resulting in the creation of exquisite sparkling wines.
