Founded in 1940, this is one of the oldest domaines in Meursault.
The current owner's grandfather, Julien Coche-Dubault, founded the domaine, and his father, Alain Coche-Bizouard, brought it to great success.
The current head of the family, Fabien Coche, born in 1973, took over the domaine himself and has also served in important positions in the Meursault winegrowers' association for many years, establishing himself as an indispensable presence in the region.
Furthermore, Coche-Dury and Jean-Marc Roulot are Fabien's cousins, making them truly prestigious families in Meursault.
Fabian knows the Côte de Beaune inside and out, which currently covers just under 12 hectares and produces 28 appellations. He owns around 40 lieu-dits in the Côte de Beaune alone, and cultivates all of the plots organically.
He knows the unique characteristics of all the lieux-dits, and in his vineyards in Meursault, which are closer to Volnay, he chooses to plant Pinot Noir after understanding the characteristics of the land, valuing the quality of the resulting wine above business.
No additives are used other than a very small amount of SO2 to prevent oxidation, and no colling or filtering is used during bottling to preserve the wine's aroma.
With his in-depth understanding of the climats of the Côte de Beaune, Fabien Coche is one of the vignerons best able to express the quality and individuality of the wines from this region.
