Dolce, a sister winery of Far Niente, is the only winery in North America that produces late harvest wines and a single wine. "Dolce" is derived from the Italian phrase "Dolce Far Niente" - " The name comes from "Sweet to don't do anything". This type of winery is rare in the world, and shares the same philosophy with the producers of Sauternes in Bordeaux. Although production volumes vary considerably, it has been produced every year since 1989 and is known as "Napa Valley's gold drop."
