Vintage Information
The 2021 growing season saw ample rainfall in January, February, and March, providing ample soil moisture, but the well-drained plots did not require significant management of vine vigor. The summer was dry, resulting in uniformly small bunches by harvest, and grapes with a high skin-to-juice ratio and dense fruit cores.
Technical information
All of TOR's Cabernet Sauvignon is aged in small tanks for 2-3 weeks, with each lot fermented separately, and then aged for 20 months in new Tarançao and d'Arnajou oak barrels.
Tasting Comments
This Oakville Cabernet is a perfect example of Oakville being the best appellation for Cabernet in Napa Valley. It has aromas of blackberry, mushroom, eucalyptus, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. It has blackberry, chocolate covered cherry and blueberry pie flavors with graphite minerality for added complexity, umami and baking spices for a firmer flavor. Its rich flavor shows the strength and brightness that Oakville brings to Cabernet.

Field Information
Cabernet Sauvignon The 2021 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon comes from three vineyards: Tench Vineyard, Double H Ranch Vineyard, and Renteria 360 Vineyard. Tench is located east of Oakville, near Screaming Eagle, where the Vaca Mountains and the valley floor form an alluvial fan. The rocky, nutrient-poor soils provide optimal stress for the vines, producing an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. Double H is a hillside vineyard on the western slope of the Vaca Mountains, just below the Dalla Vallee, and the iron-rich soils produce rich fruit and aromatic characteristics. Renteria 360 is located northeast of Oakville and has a long history of producing excellent Cabernet Sauvignon.
