Located in the heart of the Russian River Valley, it has a cool climate. The soil is made up of Gold Ridge and volcanic soil from an ancient sea, which gives it a unique aroma, natural acidity, and richness that complements each other. Many of the vines are over 40 years old, and are sourced by famous wineries (Aubert and Reimy are famous) to produce excellent wines. Fermented and aged in new French barrels. A rich Grand Cru Chardonnay with a barrel-like flavor.
Technical information
Brewing and aging: Fermented and aged in new French barrels (using several different makers, including François Frères and Lemond). Wait for the sediment to fall naturally, then bottle unfiltered.
Tasting Comments
The owner, Russell, says, "The 2019 vintage is a powerhouse! Rich and full of oak! A Grand Cru vintage!"
The aroma immediately evokes images of campfires and roasted marshmallows, with an appealing richness that comes from the barrels.
The 2019 vintage is energized by excellent natural acidity reminiscent of key lime, and offers tropical fruits such as pineapple, guava, and kiwi, as well as rich citrus nuances such as blood orange and tangerine, leading to a long finish.
This is no exaggeration; drinking it now will bring a smile to your face, but it will also change character over the course of several years of long-term aging.
