The Casa Smith Series is a collection of Washington wines produced from classic Italian varietals.

In the north, there is Barbera in Piedmont.

Travel through Tuscany with Sangiovese and finish in Puglia, land of Primitivo.

Every wine is crafted with the vision of producing Italian varietals in Washington with the same integrity as they are produced in Italy.

<The animals on the labels are native to each region of Italy.

> Tasting notes by Charles Smith A delicate and charming light in the dark night, revealing aromas of wild strawberries, dark cherries and candle wax.

Translucent and seductive, this wine lingers with black plums, tea leaves and dried black roses found tucked inside an old hardback book...a truly Barbera with a precious and delicate flavor.

Northridge Vineyard: Planted in 2003. A special 37-hectare vineyard located on the Waulk Slope.

Alluvial fan gravels overlying the Columbia River floodplain.

Beneath the topsoil lies a layer of caliche, basalt, 15-30 centimetres deep, which contains a lot of calcium and iron and challenges the vine roots.

2022 was a special year for grapes in Washington state.

What started as a late spring gave way to a mild, warm summer and then culminated in one of the longest autumns we've ever experienced.

Our vineyards, which produce excellent grapes every year, have this year harvested fruit suitable for making a very special wine.

This wine is firm, bright and has a beautiful aroma.

We look forward to watching this wine evolve and delight us for many years to come! Wild yeast, 100% whole grain fermented, fermented in stainless steel tanks, maceration for 35 days.

Aged 10 months on the lees in 100% neutral French oak puncheon barrels.

The Casa Smith series, produced by Charles Smith, is a series of wines made from classic Italian varieties.

All grapes are grown in Washington.

It all started with Vino Pinot Grigio, a white wine that Charles Smith began making using Pinot Gris in 2010.

Pinot Grigio Rosé (not available in Japan) and Rosso were later added, and the lineup currently includes three single-varietal wines (all grown on single vineyards owned by Charles Smith's family): Barbera from Piedmont, Sangiovese from Tuscany, and Primitivo from Puglia.
