A fusion of terroirs at different altitudes

The D'Erame Chianti Classico DOCG name comes from this particular altitude and soil. The wine is made from grapes harvested in the area between the lowest (420m) and highest (655m) vineyards owned by the winery. The mineral-rich hills, called Lamé (meaning blade), from which the name Lamore comes, give the Chianti Classico landscape a unique character. The wine combines the characteristics and charm of both high and low altitudes, resulting in a powerful and majestic style. A fusion of terroirs at different altitudes

The name D'Erame Chianti Classico DOCG comes from this characteristic altitude and soil. This wine is made from grapes harvested in the area between the lowest vineyard (420m) and the highest vineyard (655m) owned by the winery. The mineral-rich hills, called Lamé (meaning blade), from which the name Lamore comes, make the Chianti Classico landscape unique. The wine combines the characteristics and charm of both high and low altitudes, resulting in a powerful and majestic style. A brilliant ruby red color. In addition to the gorgeous aromas of iris and violets, there are also aromas of red berries and aromatic herbs. In the mouth, the wine is fresh and voluminous, with fine tannins that are perfectly balanced with fine acidity and crisp red fruit flavors. The aftertaste has a nuance of undergrowth. It goes well with traditional Tuscan dishes such as pappa al pomodoro (bread and tomato soup), thick pasta with game sauce, as well as ham and salami, meat tartare, testaroli with basil pesto, and fish in sauce. The grapes are grown in several vineyards at an altitude of 420 to 655 meters in the village of Lamore, and are destemmed and put through an optical sorter. After pressing, the must is fermented with the skins in stainless steel tanks and left to rest until the end of winter. The wine is then aged for about a year and a half in 50, 70, and 100hl oak barrels, before being bottled and further aged in the bottle. Cantina on the hill of Lamore in the Greve in Chianti region. Lamore is the name of the land and the gene of Sangiovese discovered here. Lamore di Lamore is the name given to the wine, which means it is the original Sangiovese. It is said that the Sangiovese of Brunello di Montalcino originated from vines transplanted from this Lamore. This land is well ventilated and dry, an ideal location that does not trap moisture. In addition, because it is on a slope, the water drains well, and the refreshing, pleasant acidity is born from this environment. The estate owns 47 hectares at an altitude of 350 to 600 meters. This area is the highest in Chianti Classico. Currently, it is said that the Lamore area is a subzone of Chianti Classico, separated from Greve in Chianti, and there is a movement to become "Lamore in Chianti". This shows that the unique terroir of Lamore gives Chianti Classico more individuality and diversity, and that it contains the qualities to produce great wine. The soil consists of three parcels: one Galestro soil and two soils composed of clay, sand and stone. The average age of the vines is about 20 years. However, some of the vines are over 70 years old. The area has moderate rainfall in spring and autumn, cold winters and warm summers. This area has a large temperature difference due to the winds blowing in from the northern Apennines, so the grapes are rich in sugar and polyphenols, and have a beautiful acidity and elegance. Enologo Andrea Daldin is a specialist who worked with his predecessor, retired H. Pariani, for about 20 years. He is from San Gimignano, and his father is a grape grower who makes Vernaccia. His five brothers are all still in the wine business, making it a true wine family. He helped his father with his work from an early age, so wine work was ingrained in him, and for him, this job was his calling.
