The easternmost region of the Saint-Emilion satellite district. It is suitable for growing high-quality Merlot, and is characterized by its fruity flavor and velvety texture. It has a refreshing and complex aroma of raspberry, black cherry, and vanilla. It has a rich, full-bodied, fruity taste in the mouth. The tannins are very fine and elegant. The aftertaste has a hint of mushroom, sous-bois, and spice. This chateau was purchased in 2003 by Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, one of the descendants of the Rothschild family who owns Lafite Rothschild in part. The lord saw great potential in this chateau located in Puysguin Saint-Emilion, and invested a huge amount of money to significantly improve the winemaking facilities. He also welcomed Michel Rolland as an oenologist, aiming to create great wines that will represent the next generation.
